Household assets under control for faster claims
Business context
KeyLimeTie is a US full-service agency combining design, development and digital strategy, helping clients build relationships with audiences through interactive channels. The company develops web and mobile solutions, including e-commerce, CMS systems and bespoke applications.
In 2016, KeyLimeTie decided to strengthen its offering for the insurance sector by delivering a tool for the digital inventory of household property. The goal was to make it easier for customers to document the contents of their flats and houses, while streamlining valuation and claims handling processes for insurers. Leaware was invited to join the project as a technology partner.
Challenge
The key challenge was to design an application that would allow users to quickly create a complete list of their possessions, categorise them by room, and add photos, descriptions and values for each item. The documentation needed to be detailed enough to provide real support for claims settlement processes and accelerate compensation payouts.
It was necessary to combine ease of use with high reliability and data security, while also being capable of handling extensive item catalogues. Consistency of the user experience across different mobile platforms and ease of further product development were also required.
Solution
Leaware built an inventory application for KeyLimeTie using Xamarin and MvvmCross, ensuring native experiences across multiple platforms and a stable architecture based on the MVVM pattern. This approach reduced development time and made maintenance easier, while preserving high interface quality and performance.
The application enables the creation of a detailed property register: assigning items to rooms, adding photos and descriptions, and specifying the value of each element. The resulting documentation supports the estimation of the user's assets and provides a reliable basis for more efficient insurance claims processing, translating into a better experience for both customers and insurers.
