Cipal Orders: automating project budget tracking
Business context
Cipal Schaubroeck is a Belgian intermunicipal ICT organisation providing digital solutions and services for public sector entities, including cities, municipalities, social welfare centres and provincial authorities. The company focuses on innovation and improving the quality of public services.
As the number and complexity of project initiatives grew, manual budget tracking became time-consuming and prone to delays. The difficulty of keeping stakeholders informed on an ongoing basis resulted in inefficient resource use and decision-making risk.
The strategic objective was to implement an automated, multi-platform application that would simplify and standardise the budget monitoring process while ensuring transparency, easy access and timely communication about upcoming projects for all stakeholders.
Challenge
The key challenge was to replace manual practices with a solution that would proactively notify employees about upcoming projects, presenting the budget amount, a brief description and the planned date. The information had to be updated in real time to support transparency and fast, data-driven decisions.
The application needed to operate consistently across multiple platforms in order to reach a distributed organisation using Android and iOS devices. At the same time, it was necessary to standardise communication about the portfolio of upcoming initiatives and ensure scalability as the number of projects increased.
Solution
Leaware designed and built the Cipal Orders application using Xamarin, leveraging a single codebase to deliver a native experience on Android and iOS. The solution was designed to maximise reach and simplify maintenance while maintaining a high-quality interface.
The application delivers timely notifications about upcoming projects, presenting the budget amount, a concise description and the planned date for each one. It automates previously manual tasks, ensuring data is kept up to date and supporting better planning and resource allocation.
A simple, intuitive interface was a priority, enabling fast user onboarding and smooth day-to-day use. This focus on usability translated into strong adoption of the solution across the organisation.
