The app was a key tool in a real life city game. To join the game you had to register on a website first and setup a clan (team) or join a clan from within the app.
The purpose of the game was to search for buildings located in different parts of a city (or cities – the app had a nationwide database) and conquer those buildings (as a Viking would do ;)).

Simplicity and gamification
Each building had and each clan member had its power. To conquer a ‘fortress’ it was necessary to be within a certain radius of its location (based on GPS position) and have higher power than its defense. Some building had a high defense power so it was necessary for couple clan members to show up at the location and ‘check-in’ at the same time.
The defense power of a building was equal to victory points of the team so the more buildings where under your control the higher you were in the ranking (also visible in the app). Of course it was possible to re-capture a building from another clan so it was important to stay put during the whole time of the game.
At the end of the game time the teams with most points won the prizes.
